These tugs also work well when practicing the down/retrieve command.
This tug being made of jute works excellent in getting a puppy interested in bite work with a jute sleeve.
The tug is soft enough that it will encourage a pup to take a full bite.
I have not seen a dog yet that does not get excited over a jute tug.
It also quickly becomes the special favorite for dogs who already love toys and therefore a great reward for working.
It is an excellent transition from the tug toy to the sleeve.Dogs love it you will have difficulty taking it away .

In this short tip video, I go over how to decrease arousal over toys by only letting the dog have the toy when they are not over aroused. This video also goes over how to teach the dog the cues ‘get it’ and ‘drop it’. You can use whatever verbal cues you like, some people will use ‘take it’ and ‘out’ as their cues.
