Although a dog may like water, a dog not necessarily will be very passionate about water coming from a hose, so this would be limited to dogs that really like water from a hose. You could also teach the dog to go under, over, or through objects with a hose if he really is passionate about the hose, but in this video we are showing how we would teach them to just get into water.

This video goes over some simple exercises on how to teach your dog to stop jumping on you!
Remember! Dogs jump for a reason! It is either to get your attention, they are over aroused or stressed, or to acquiesce to you (when the dog tries to get to your mouth to lick it)

Tips:
1-Teach your dog what you want them to do instead of jumping up FIRST
2- Don’t reinforce jumping up with attention
3- Proof by creating situations your dog will want to jump up in, so that the dog generalizes the behavior.
4- Prevent jumping when you are not in the mood to train your dog, by having your dog on leash or in his pen

This video is a how to on how to change your dogs emotional response to something they are frightened of. The example in the video is my dog Kiko who suddenly became fearful of crossing the kitchen floor. Common issues with dogs can be- shiny floors, stairs, man hole covers, grates, metal, wet grass, a crate they had a bad experience in… the list goes on. This same technique can be used in all those situations.

This video is a how to video on how to teach your dog to target an object with his front paws. This is not only a great game to teach your puppy or dog how to learn to learn, but it is the foundation for many behaviors and tricks. Tricks with this foundation include- wave, shake , high five, standing up, hands up, close the door, cop cop, say your prayers, descrimination, freestyle foot work and more.

Take care with large breed dogs or dogs who have sharp toe nails as you can get slapped. Perhaps teach shake down the line when you have more experience as a trainer so that your large dog doesnt learn to paw at you as their favorite behavior. The great thing about the technique that I am using is that the dog isnt learning to paw at your skin, but at an object, so you can get that on stimulus control before it is just your arm (for very large and powerful dog breeds). You can also click them fore being gentle before you switch to using just your hand for shake.

Ron Watson, an internationally renowned Frisbee master, was in San Diego doing a Frisbee seminar that I had the pleasure to attend. He generously accepted the offer to do a free youtube tutorial on some basic Frisbee foundations.

These exercises can be done with a dog even before they have been introduced to a Frisbee, and can also be used for cool tricks, or flashy Canine Freestyle moves as well!

I must say that my Frisbee throwing ability GREATLY improved with a little tutoring! And now Splash is not eating dirt every time that I throw! Thanks Ron!

Remember your dog should be over 18 months old to do these exercises, to ensure their growth plates are closed. Also keep in mind your dog should also not be overweight or old- stressing their joints too much.
