VOODOO & JOHNNY 2009 3 WEEKS OLD When mothers have babies, they dont like other dogs around. They are very protective of their pups. On your walk VooDoo see another of my dogs, who she normally would play with. But, because Voo Doo has puppies, she is giving the other dog a wide birth. The Milky Way was built for raising puppies. There is a wonderful outside area, where the mother can go to stretch her legs, get a drink of water, or just get away from her babies. There is a small door, big enough for the mother to fit through that leads to the inside where the puppies are. Last week the puppies were in the whelping box. The whelping box keeps the little ones from getting lost while their eyes are still not open. When their eyes start opening, they also start getting their feet under themselves and they start exploring a lot. This week you will see a big difference in their ability to get around.

This is Blitz, my nine week old yellow lab. He is in training to be a guide, and we have started with some of the training, including sit/stay and down/stay. Now, a ton of this isn’t perfect, like when he breaks his stay, (But this is the fualt of my two year old brother…Blitz isn’t quite ready for that kind of distractions) or laying down after I told him to sit, but you have to keep in mind…He’s only nine weeks, I don’t expect perfection from him.

These are our almost 4 month old pups that we are raising currently. They are absolutely adorable. Thanks to Stacy at Talini Golden for allowing us to have Snow Plow and Winter Ice become members of our family. Dreamcicle and flurrie are girls from our January litter. We were only going to keep one, but fell in LOVE with both girls! What fun…watch this!
