Getting The Right Type Of Dog For Security

In these increasingly unsafe times, people want to feel safe and secure for both themselves and their families.Others feel a need to protect their businesses from burglars and intruders. Many people prefer a protection dog to a security alarm system. With some breeds, this kind of guarding and protecting is a natural instinct and dogs have been performing this job for centuries. You need to decide if you need a protection dog or a guard dog. Is there any specific difference?
The fact is, yes, there is a big difference between a guard dog and protection dog. You need to understand this before you adopt or buy a puppy. A guard dog will guard property but a protection dog is both a pet and a protector of you and your family. You need to make sure that your protection dog does not threaten your friends or family or visitors to your house.
A guard dog is trained solely to protect and should not be a personal pet. Guard dogs or K9’s are trained to work for the police or military and can’t just turn off their training. Guard dogs are trained for three different and separate roles.
1) Alarm Dog- Usually this type is large and intimidating with a loud, deep bark. He’ll almost certainly sound the alarm any time somebody approaches, but will take no action. Usually when the alarm dogs barks, the intruder will go away.
2) Sentry Dog- This type of guard dog is usually used to protect larger areas or property, like a shipyard or a warehouse. The dog is free to roam on his own without instruction from his owner. Since they are trained to attack any trespasser, they’re perfect for this type of situation.
3) Attack Dog- A dog that is trained to attack or even kill on orders from his handler. These dogs are used for pure guard-dog roles such as police K-9 or the military. Dogs properly trained at this level aren’t sociable at any level and therefore are unsuitable as pets.
Protection dogs are basically family pets who defend their family in nearly any situation they think is threatening. Some of the most popular breeds for protection dogs are: Rottweilers,Doberman Pinscherrs, German Shepherds and Giant Schnauzers.
The Doberman is the only one of the working-dog breeds that also can be used as a protection dog. These breeds are incredibly dependable and become true members of the family. They can be socialized with children and other pets, along with other family members, friends and neighbors.
You should not train them to do what comes naturally. They should be bred with respect for their natural instincts to be protective. These dogs, however, should be obedience trained and need to understand their position in the family. They tend to be dominant, so you need to assert your alpha role. You need to be sure to exercise these types of dogs to ensure a well adjusted and behaved pet. These are large dogs and they need a lot of activity.
The primary difference between a guard dog and a protection dog is ultimately in the training. All dogs should be properly trained and most people really don’t know how to do it without professional assistance.

Which canine has the highest bite force in world? It’s definitely not a wild dog or a wolf. It comes down to the larger breeds of domestic dogs. Mastiffs, Kangals, Tosas, bandogges, boer boels, and are other large breeds of dogs. Sorry wolf fans, the larger breeds of domestic dogs bite much higher then wolves, and dogs like kangals and sarplaniacs have little to no trouble killing wolves. Highest bite force I’ve heard is from a kangal of Sivas Line which bit at 743 lbs of bite force. Some larger dogs have the same if not higher bite force then lions even. An the power of these dogs is uncomparable, just be glad there domestic and love humans. Because if they wanted they’d overpower and have no problem getting the best of there owner.

This Dog training video is about guard dogs, attack dogs, personal protection dogs, killer dogs, or whatever type of training a dog trainer may call it. In reality this video is about a well trained black german shepherd (shepard, shepperd, Sheppard) some people spell german shepherd wrong! A well trained Doberman pincher and guard dog training done on a Rottweiler or rottie. Guard dog training and attack dog training is a serious business, so be sure to choose a qualified dog trainer. There is a big difference between a dog trainer that only demos dog training and their own trained dog, and a dog trainer that shows dog training on dogs that have been trained by their clients under supervision. That is the difference between e decent trainer and a good dog training technique.
