Planning For Your New Puppy Is Important

We have seen this image too often. A pup is brought home to a giggling child too happy to have a cuddly little puppy with furiously wagging tail while kissing the youngster all around the face, a happy contagiously funny scene.
The excitement though wears off easily. Soon the dog will be peeing on the carpeting, eager to be fed and watered, jumping on people, begging for walks, creating noise, uprooting plants, digging in the yard and toying as all dogs do. Adopting a dog entails responsibilities such as grooming, taking it out for workouts, training and caring as well as feeding and watering. This is the bigger scene not usually imagined but merely as real.
When chose to adopting a dog, arrangement for the accompanying:
Supplies
The basic supplies that the dog will need are bowls for water and food, a dog ID tag with name address and phone number, a bed, a comb, a collar and a leash, and dog food.
Setting Limits
Even before the dog is brought home, the household should agree on tasks, assignments and different dog duties for the caring of the dog. Projects ought to include who should feed the dog on particular days, who should take the dog for walks, and who should groom the dog. Agree on areas that are off limits to the dog and areas where the dog is allowed. If the dog is not yet trained, do not allow the dog to sit on the piece of furniture or sleep in the bed with people.
When limits are not set and the dog is allowed to do as it wants, the dog will try to dominate. This is an old pattern of dog behavior that is held over since the dogs were still in the wild. To prevent this, do not play games with the dog that will instruct him to challenge you. Roughhouse and tug of war are a few of the most well-liked examples.
When the dog starts to nip, it is an indication that the dog have had enough, let the dog rest and do not permit another occasion to reach that point as it is in addition teaches the dog to be dominant. Likewise, do not permit nor encourage wild behavior.
The dog also appreciates hierarchy. If it learns from the start that you play dominance or is the alpha male, it would be easier to make the dog follow your commands.
Dog Training
Dog obedience training must start as early as possible since the dog has to learn manners and to follow commands. Abnormal barking, jumping on people, quarrelling with other dogs and house pets, chewing on furniture, scratching the carpet are just some of the examples untrained dogs do that frequently results to embarrassment to their owners.
Different dogs have a variety of temperaments. These do not just alter from one dog to another, it is in addition differs depending on the breed and the size of the dog. While dogs are more often than not lovely and lively creatures, there are a few negative traits that surface after a spell. Negative traits, all the same, are concentrated if not removed by training.

The Argentine Dogo is a large, white, game-bred, muscular dog that was developed in Argentina for the protection of families against Puma attacks, and very well suited for big-game hunting.Dogos are known for being extremely loyal and affectionate with their families and crave attention from their owners. They are excessively tolerant of children due to their high pain tolerance, derived from selective breeding to be a big game hunter. They are protective of what they perceive as their territory and will guard it against any intruder. They get along with other dogs as long as they have been properly socialized, but will usually not tolerate another dog trying to assert dominance over them and might not coexist peacefully with another dominant breed of dog. However, dog aggression is not desirable in the Dogo Argentino, as it is at odds with its intended purpose as a pack hunter.Dogo Argentinos are accomplished big-game hunters, and are still widely used today in a variety of ways from tracking, search and rescue, Schutzhund training, general police work including narcotics detection, military, and family dog. They are even occasionally used as guide dogs, or as service animals. The Dogo Argentino was bred specifically to avoid the dog aggression problems inherent in the Cordoba Fighting Dog when applied to hunting, specifically its lack of ability to hunt in a pack. The creators of the breed took great care to prevent this undesirable trait from manifesting in the Dogo Argentino, as the breed was always intended to be a pack hunter.Dogos can develop an aggressive or dominant temperament if not socialized with other dogs at an early age, particularly with other dogs of the same sex, but can be trained by an experienced handler. However, some Dogos are bred for dog fighting. Dogos of these lines are extremely aggressive and not suited for big game hunting, unlike the original Dogo Argentino. These Dogos are somewhat smaller than the ones used for big-game hunting weighting between 75 and 90 lb. In some rare cases, they are cross-bred with the American Pit Bull Terrier. In the United Kingdom it is illegal to own Argentine Dogos without specific exemption from a court per the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act. The Australian government has banned the importation of this dog.In the 1930s in Argentina, Antonio Nores Martinez set out to breed the ultimate big game hunting dog, a dog not only capable of taking on dangerous game such as wild boar and cougars, but a dog also capable of being a loyal pet and family guardian.Martinez picked the Cordoba Fighting Dog to be the base for the breed. This breed is extinct today but was described as a large and ferocious dog that was both a great hunter and fighter. He crossed it with Great Dane, Boxer, Spanish Mastiff, Old English Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Great Pyrenees, Pointer, Irish Wolfhound and Dogue de Bordeaux. Martinez kept improving the resulting breed via selective breeding to introduce the desired traits. The first standard for the Dogo Argentino was written in 1928.
