Orphaned puppies - the first four weeks
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

The mother of these puppies was abandoned about a week before giving birth. She was a German Shepherd, and unfortunately after giving birth to eight puppies (four boys, four girls), she died shortly after. A neighbor found them, put them in her laundry basket, and took them into my work, a vet hospital.
I hadn’t the slightest clue how to raise a litter of puppies, so a more knowledgeable co-worker of mine took them in for the first three days, at the same time teaching me a bit on how to care for them. After she lost one of the males overnight, I offered to take them all in, but another co-worker wanted three. Long story short, I took four and the three remaining puppies were not taken care of properly. They weren’t fed regularly and were literally forgotten about several times. When I was able to finally get my hands on them to be reunited with their littermates, they were starving. They all ate a big meal that night and slept soundly.
The next day, the male of the three abandoned puppies wasn’t acting right. Again, long story short, we discovered he developed terrible pneumonia and had to be euthanized the next morning. He declined so fast that there was just no way to save him. Watching him suffer is something I will never forget, and something I will never forgive the people who supposedly “took care of him” those two days.
I am so grateful the two females lived, as our four continued to thrive. Unfortunately, they soon all came down with the beginning stages of pneumonia. After several treatments of fluids and weeks of antibiotics, these tough little puppies pulled through like champs. We were prepared to lose them all they looked so terrible.
With that, this video is their first four weeks of life.
