A question for breeders of anyone who raises puppies?
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

Well I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. One boy and One girl. I’ve been trying to make them have puppies for a while now, but my female dog seems like she doesn’t want to have puppies with my male dog which is like a year and 1/2 younger than her.
I was wondering are there sperm banks or places where other cavaliers can impregnate my dog or where my male dog can impregnate a female dog. Thanks.
Is there even a place like that, that even exists?

If your female wont accept your male, its probably a good sign that she’s not breeding quality.
There are no sperm banks.. there is artificial insemination, but its very costly, and often does not take.
Why dont you SHOW your dogs and earn their CH titles, and find an experienced breeding mentor before you continue with attempting to breed? If you didnt know about artificial insemination, then you dont likely have enough knowledge to safely breed your dogs.

Good breeders do bank the semen of valuable stud dogs. I am sure there are a lot of CKCS that have been collected and banked. The chances that they would let YOU breed your dog to their valuable stored semen is NIL.
If you knew what you were doing, you would just collect your own male and do a AI.
It seems BYB have no clue how to do that.

Both dogs should be at least two years old, and champions in the show ring. They should definitely have all the health clearances required for the breed. You should also have a breeder mentor.
Ok, now that you have all that done, the female must be in season!! If she is not in season, she will not allow a male to mount her, and even if she did she would not get pregnant.

If your female doesn’t want to breed, why force her? What if someone forced you to have sex with a man you didn’t want to, and have his child? Not really fair is it?
She’s not a puppy vending machine… there are plenty and plenty of breeders out there, good and bad, breeding dogs. Yes, including Cavaliers. Your females services are not needed. Your females pups don’t need to take up homes for the same dogs waiting in shelters…
And, I’m pretty sure you don’t need your house to be wall to wall puppy poop until weaning!

Public sperm banks? No. There are plenty of stud males that you can pay to use their services, and breeders with females that would pay for a stud. However, no real breeder would EVER pay to use your male as a stud or allow you to use theirs, as reputable breeders only work with other reputable breeders. You would be considered a backyard breeder and laughed at by any breeder you called. Every word of your question is dripping of inexperience, why in the world are you trying to breed your dogs? Follow your female’s lead and DON’T BREED. Have your dogs altered. You aren’t knowledgeable about breeding, you most likely have no idea how to raise puppies properly. I’m not trying to come off as hostile or anything, but you seriously don’t need to have anything to do with breeding.

Have you had your dogs checked out to make sure they don’t have heart problems (usually doesn’t show up until about 5 years old) ? I’m sure being the loving owner that you are, you wouldn’t want to produce puppies who will have short painful lives…
Oh yes, and I’m sure you are able to provide for all the puppies should their new homes not work out because a loving person such as yourself would never want one of her puppies to end up in a shelter or a bad home, right?

The sire of this one year old Bulldog has been dead for over ten years.

So yes it can be done, BUT, lets talk a little about the price.
Seamen is not collected from just any dog, so this vile of seamen that has been stored for over ten years was harvested from a very expensive Champion. It cost $2550.00 including shipping and storage. Then frozen seamen is surgically implanted, another $1000.00. C-section delivery, another $1500.00. Ole was the only puppy, cost at birth $5,050.00.
Then consider that Ole’s mother needed to be a BISS Champion for the owner of that dead for ten years stud dogs to even consider her. Cost, about $20,000,00.
So plan on spending somewhere around $25,000.00 to do what you are suggesting.

been there , done that
The very fact that you are asking this sort of thing says that you should not be breeding in the first place.
Get a mentor and learn how to be responsible or alter your dogs and leave the breeding up to those that are responsible.

There isn’t a dog sperm bank. Your first step is to make sure they have both had their health testing done (test patellas, hearts, eyes, and hips) and then if they come back normal on all those parameters, take them to a fertility specialist to figure out which dog, if either one, has the issue.
