I have been working on so many things with Twix, but today we worked on him jumping over my back. However, I am not lifting up too much as he is still a puppy! I just want him to learn the basics and as he gets older he will be able to jump higher. He is such a natural and loves anything that involves a frisbee.

@prettybeautyqueenify I hope that helped some. My friend kikopup has a great video on how to pair touch with something the dog enjoys. It is easier to use food, but I do use toys a lot. I love my hyper border collies, but yet I do want them to be able to calm, settle or “give me hugs” whenever I ask or when I stop moving. The problem with toys is that the dogs can really get wound up and too over aroused.

@prettybeautyqueenify Well, I have been working on handling Twix since he was 10 weeks old. To teach him hugs, I just gave him a hug and clicked and tossed a toy, then I repeated that process until all I had to say was hugs and he would come flying into my lap. I vary up the amount of time that he has to spend giving me hugs now. I also vary up the reinforcement (sometimes he gets a cookie, sometimes a toy, and sometimes I do not mark it with a yes or click and just release him with an ok).
