As requested I’m posting this. This is about 2 weeks after it burst. He’s basically healed. After it burst on Saturday I went to the vet on Monday and they looked at it and told me to try and save the scab as long as I could. The scab fell of that Wednesday and I went back Friday (vet closed on Thursday), They did a thorough cleaning and dressing on it and said that the bursting of the cyst was the best thing that could have happened!! So here we are today, he’s happy, I’m happy!!
Oh and they did suggest that I have the cyst lanced and drained to begin with but they wanted to anesthetize him. At 11 that worried me so we held off, put him on heavy antibiotics and did the hot compresses. This caused it to come out on it’s own with no putting my 10 yr old baby under. He’ll be 11 July 26th!!!

the last vid you were wondering if you should pull that stuff out, chances are it was the cyst sack and if you pulled it out it couldn’t come back so unless the vet did it, it very well may come back

i am wondering if the cyst came back? we had the same thing happen and it healed up and within 3 months it grew back and was bigger when it popped (and deeper).

So glad it healed this much. It sure looked nasty in the first video. No doubt he was a trooper for letting you take care of it. I love that he is telling his version of the story now. Give him a belly rub for me!
