How long will a Bull Mastiff dog live for?
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.
Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

We have a gorgeous Bull Mastiff X (she’s mostly Mastiff, with a little great dane we think) and I would like to know how long these guys live. Please, only people who have owned/bred Mastiffs.
Its a girl, btw.
my book says 8-10 years but dogs seem to be living longer now with better care. Their major halth concerns are gastric tortion,CHD, elbow dysplasia and occasionally entropion. Sorry I dont know all these terms.

mastiff’s live about 10 years. it’s unfortunate that the larger breeds have shorter life expectancy’s. enjoy your dog. :]

That really is an open ended question……….however well you look after your dog, no one has a crystal ball to be able to forsee any health or genetic problems. The average age would be around 10 - 12 but big dogs do have a shorter lifespan, and Danes average life span is 9 years.

Mastiffs don’t tend to have very long lives, ours lived to be about 10yo which I think is a pretty good average.

The usual for your type of dog is 8 - 10 yrs. However I have had a Great Dane and a Boerboel (SOuth African breed - Almost identicle to Bullmastiff in height, looks, but a little broader) live to 11 yrs and 13 yrs.
Good senior care and adult care is essential for a long life. Bullmastiffs are highly prone to Hip dyplacia and jointproblems which can lead to them being put down before 10yrs. With your type of breed always keep their weight under control because obesity is a major cause of these defects. Supplements of fish oils and a varied healthy diet is essential.

Books tend to say 8-10, but after owning them, its closer to 10. They can live up to 12. It pretty much depends on the care you give them.
For a female, it will help her health if she is spayed and not bred. Also, the big guys tend to need top of the line nutrition. That also will add to her life. For treats we never give the store bought stuff, only apples, oranges, bananas, etc. So basically, get her spayed, feed her very well, and dont over due the treats and she will have a longer, healthier life. Ours always did!
