THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

Summer, the favourite month for dogs and their owners.Walking conditions are perfect during the warm mornings and dusky evenings.Nothing can beat an early morning or evening walk with your four legged friend. Not only is a brisk walk good for your health, but it is also great for the dog’s health too. But don’t forget that with summer comes new, unwelcome dangers to your dog.

BBQs

We all love the taste of food cooked al fresco over hot coals. Many of us will allow our dogs to join us in the garden when cooking outdoors. But do you realise that by allowing your dog to roam free around a BBQ you could be putting it in a dangerous situation? The dog will not understand that the BBQ is hot, possibly until it is too late. And a lively dog may easily bump into the BBQ, injuring or burning itself. And remember, BBQ’d food does not make a healthy meals for a dog.Dogs don’t mind begging for more, so offering him one sausage will only mean he expects another. However, such greasy food offers little nutritional value and will only result in your dog becoming a fussy eater; one who expects to be fed from your plate.Instead, offer him a tasty bowl of his favourite dog food. Plus, your dog could end up choking on small bones if you offer it chicken wings or drumsticks.

Water at every Occasion

Water is an essential part of any dogs daily feeding routineDuring the hot summer months water is vitally important so your dog does not become dehydrated.Make sure that you offer a bowl full of clean, fresh water with every bowl of food and when you are out and about take a bottle of water and a bowl with you.He will certainly be grateful for the refreshment.

Hot Cars

You should never, ever leave your dog alone in your car for a prolonged period of time, especially in times of hot weather. The inside of the car can rapidly overheat, causing dehydration and even death. If you know you are going somewhere where your dog is not allowed to visit please leave him at home. Never be tempted to just leave him in the car – there really is no excuse!

Animal Friendly Sun Screen

Dogs are as vulnerable to the sun’s rays as humans. If you know your dog is going to be out in direct sunlight for a prolonged period you need to invest in some dog friendly sunscreen. The areas with a thin coat of fur can be easily affected, so pay attention to the ears and nose. You can buy pet friendly sunscreen from your vet or local pet retailer.
