We all know that our ancestors domesticated dogs thousand of years ago, but most of us might be surprised to find out that dog owners have also been using dog collars since ancient times. In fact, we can trace the first dog collars to the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Since those times, dog collars have been used as an ID for each owners’ canines and to protect them from unwanted critters. What can be the reason for an owner to upgrade his dog collar to a citronella bark collar?

While you’re probably familiar with a dog collar and a dog bark, how about a “bark collar”? The function of this type of collar is behavior modification. More specifically, it attempts to prevent dogs from barking too much, or at the wrong time. A bark collar is composed mainly of a microphone and a battery.
