What You Need To Know - Scabies On Dogs
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

Scabies on dogs is caused by a mite which burrows into your dog’s skin. The mite will remain for its lifecycle of 21 days and spread to other areas if left untreated. The mites prefer living on dogs, and those that might jump to a human host will not live long. Humans are what is known as an accidental host.
Although this type of cancer can occur in any dog, it is common in middle aged to elderly dogs, especially large breeds like German Shepherd and Golden Retriever.
Canine spleen cancer symptoms
When the tumor ruptures, the spleen bleeds and internal hemorrhage occurs. Excessive blood loss may result in death. Symptoms of spleen cancer in dogs are:
- shock
- pale gums
- cold body
- weakness
- abdominal distention
- anemia
By the time the tumor is detected, it usually has become large and has metastasised to liver, lungs, brain and other organs.
Diagnosis of spleen tumor
Several tests can determine the existence of masses. The initial step involves a physical examination. A firm mass can be felt in the spleen area on palpation. Thereafter, radiographs of the abdomen are performed to determine if the mass is on the spleen and radiographs of the chest is for checking the spread of cancer. Abdominal ultrasound may detect cancer spread to liver and other organs. Blood tests are also carried out.
How Are Cataracts In Dogs Treated?
Cataracts are treated with surgery. Most canines who have cataract surgery regain their vision. If you decide not to have the surgery, your pet will become blind.
Believe it or not, blind dogs do very well. It’s usually more of a problem for the owner than it is for the pet. Blind dogs adjust quickly, and can live long, happy lives. You will need to have your vet monitor your pet’s eyes to prevent any other complications.
Can Natural Remedies For Dogs Protect Your Pet’s Eyes?
Bilberry has a long history in folk medicine an an herb that can stop, or even reverse, the formation of cataracts. Scientific studies show that bilberries, a close relative of blueberries, contain anthocyanins, which are powerful antioxidants. These antioxidants neutralize free radicals, preventing them from damaging the eyes.
Would a remedy that contains bilberries help prevent blindness from cataracts in dogs? It just might. In any case, it wouldn’t hurt to try it, especially if bilberry is combined with goat’s rue, astragalus, fenugreek, and chromium, which have been proven to lower blood glucose levels in pets.
The safest way to treat a dog with scabies is to use a lime-sulfer dip and a medicated miticide shampoo to help kill the mites. The condition may get worse at first before it gets better. Prescription medications have side effects in some dogs are are usually used during a short trial to see how your dog tolerates them. Medications are available orally or via injection (Ivermectin or selamectin).
If the tumor is benign and the splenectomy is not carried out, there will be repeated hemorrhages that is potentially life threatening to the dog. Splenectomy gets rid of the associated problems and symptoms caused by benign tumor
