What To Do If Your Dog Won’t Eat
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

Whenever the eating habits of pets are discussed, dog owners would always brag about the pet’s voracious appetites. Dogs eat very fast so that the food will be gone in a flash. Indiscriminate eating is one of the rather unappealing habits of dogs. Pet owners would always complain about the dog’s habit of raiding trash cans. Dogs also have the repulsive habit of eating feces.
Despite being branded as greedy eaters, some dogs are picky eaters. Some dog owners are concerned about the dog’s poor appetite. This situation is common in one dog households. Because the pet would have no competition not only for the food but also for the affection of the family, the pet can demand for better offerings. The beef roast on the master’s plate is certainly more delicious than dry kibble. Dog owners exposed to the finicky eating habits of the pet will not be concerned. But what about pets that have suddenly turned off food - what can you do to help a pet that refuses to eat?
There must be something wrong with a pet that would reject the doggie bowl two times in a row. A dog that refused to eat will have an empty stomach thus it will feel queasy and would commonly vomit to expel the bile accumulated in the stomach. If the stomach remains empty for a period of time, the dog will vomit yellowish liquid showing that the lining of the stomach is already irritated. Repeated vomiting will result to dehydration. To be able to help the pet, an owner has to know why the dog is not eating.
In most cases, the inappetence of the pet can be due to a change of diet. Although dogs are known to be indiscriminate eaters, some would not touch moldy dog food. If this is the case, the owner has to open a new bag or better yet, feed the dog home cooked meals. Cooking for the dog would take some effort but aside from being cheaper, you can be sure that the dog is getting nutritious food. The dog’s non-interest in food can be associated with a medical concern.
Periodontal diseases can be the reason why the dog shuns food. Seriously ill dogs would completely refuse to eat. Aside from the inability to verbalize what they feel, ill dogs would also hide from the human family. A lethargic dog that repeatedly refused to eat must be brought to a veterinary facility at once as for certain the dog’s refusal to eat is not caused by a moldy kibble.
