One dog training tip I cross alongside on a regular basis is, all the time let your dog know clearly if he has carried out right or wrong. By that I don’t mean a washy “Oh, you are a good boy,” or a feeble try at correction with: “Oh, you are a foul boy.”

To the dog, both phrases come throughout as being virtually identical. They are mentioned with completely no distinction in the proprietor’s voice, no difference in tone. The poor dog simply doesn’t understand whether he is being praised or chastised.
