THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

Training Puppies Not to Bite With a Simple Command

New pet owners will save a lot of furniture and shredded newspapers by training puppies not to bite when they are young. New pet owners who train their puppies early will enjoy each others company for a lifetime. Are your family members complaining that Fido has a puppy biting problem? Have you adopted a new pet and need some information on how to house train a puppy? Then this perspective with instructions for training your new puppy will nip the problem in the bud.

Identify the behavior signs.

Watch how the new puppy behaves, while noting the areas where training is needed. The new owner of a puppy will not want to encourage bad behavior by playing to rough or playing “tug of war” until the animal has been trained for appropriate behavior. The new owner will also have to learn what times of day the puppy eats and then wants to “do his business.” Like most children, puppies need to have a routine that will deliver a desired behavior at a convenient time for you.

Remain consistent.

Once you have identified the behavior and the times associated with it, you can begin to successfully train your new puppy. The next step is to remain consistent with his training. The new owner with a puppy biting problem will have to correct any and all issues with the puppy as they occur. The command words that you use with the puppy should be kept simple, like “bad dog” or “No.”The new puppy will soon recognize the command words you’ve chosen. Other family members can be involved with walking the puppy after their meals.Timing and consistency is critical when potty training the new puppy.

Reward good behavior.

Please your puppy with a treat or words of encouragement for good behavior. You will accelerate the training with treats and rewards. The new puppy will quickly relate their good behavior to the treat or a sign of affection from you. The best way to house break a puppy is to walk them outside right after their meals.

Understand your authority.

A lot of reinforcement is needed with new puppies. The important thing to remember is to correct the behavior with a command as soon as the infraction happens. Again, puppies have short memories, and they are not going to understand your authority if they cannot relate to the problem. What I mean by this is you cannot expect the puppy to know what he has done wrong after a period of time has gone by after the offence.

Training puppies not to bite isn’t very hard, the thing to remember that consistency and rewards will take care of the puppy biting problem. Not every one knows how to house train a puppy, but with these tips you should be able to control the problem with relative ease. Remember that patience will go a long way to achieving the perfect puppy.
