THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

Proper yorkie training enables a dog to behave in ways acceptable by his human companions. Through training, a dog is granted the opportunity to master desirable and helpful commands like sit, stay, down and come. Moreover, training doesn’t only prevent the development of bad behavior but is oftentimes the cure should an unwanted behavior develop.

There is more than one way to kill a cat, so is to train a dog. You can opt for the most popular and widely effective positive training or settle for correction-based training. Unfortunately, there are still people who use punishment-based training when training their dog.

There are several resources from which you can find various tips and ideas as to how to achieve that nicely trained dog you have been dreaming of. But you never have to look any further. Listed below are the three yorkie training tips that will surely help:

Patience
Positive training result can’t be attained instantly. While some dogs can master a particular command after one session, be reminded that training usually take days or weeks. It may even take months if you are training a dog to get rid of an undesirable behavior he acquired. A great deal of patience is therefore essential so that you will not get frustrated and eventually give up your training endeavors. Expecting positive results too quickly must be avoided.

Consistency
Yorkies are clever dogs but inconsistencies can possibly confuse them. Like for example if you’re training your pet to jump, you need to be very strict in implementing the rule. Reprimanding him each time he jumps on your visitors while allowing him to do so to other family members will surely confuse him. One more example is the tone of voice. If you use cheerful tone of voice when calling him to come, using angry or sad tone may mean different to him even if you are actually giving the same command.

Fun-filled training
They may be clever but dogs get bore easily. To prevent boredom, yorkie training should be fun and interesting enough for your dog. Training sessions must only last for ten minutes or so.
