If you see your dog eating in front of the fridge the entire foods you’ve bought for two weeks, what would you do?~You might not know that to do next with your dog if you see him eating all the foods you have prepared for a family picnic. What if you see him peeing on your favourite shirt that was a gift from your grandmother? Licking your crushed makeup?
You might at first react with fierce, a fuming look in your face and your teeth gnashing. Then you would get a long stick to beat him, considering that doing the act will make him learn he should not do error again. But this is definitely wrong. Dogs can’t immediately realize what we want and we don’t want fro them. They cannot interpret people’s minds and the strong-minded teaching is what we must do.
Think of any scheme that will not involve beating or spanking him. You can make it successful even if you try to do task without something, except your willpower to coach him.
Switching your vocal tone is one method. For an example, you go to your neighbor’s house to check some pieces of jewels she’s selling to you. You carry your dog with you since no one in the house will be left. While doing a discussion with your neighbour, your dog pick a necklace which he plays with then bites. In this case, punishing the dog cruelly will not help. Instead, go back to your home and start teaching him the proper manners. Pretend like you’re going to spank batter him. Straightly look at his face and make a snarling voice. Take note of his response with what you did. If he turns quiet, then we can say that it works. If not, we can try another practice.
If you are full of activity to discipline your dog inside your home, put him in his shelter for a while so messy things will be prevented to happen. His shelter must be large for him to move around so he will not be bored. If he feels sadness, that might trigger incessant barking. Other objects such as foods and rubber mattress are also choices.
Coaching the dogs with short words is the most applied technique by dog trainers. If you notice that your dog is nearing towards your kid’s birthday cake, get his attention and say “Stay away”. The dog will learn this thing as long as you repeat it for a several times.
But there are moments that dogs do not learn as speedy as we expect. Dogs love to play with junks. Pretend that you are going to kick him off if you see him eating something hazardous for his health. This will trigger fear and would immediately depart from what he is doing. Again, apply the repetition principle until the learning is established. Rewarding your dog with treat will help to enhance the learning.
Directing him with proper discipline must be mixed with making him know the correct behavior. Kids who experience exploitation gets struggle in learning things. This is same with creatures like dogs. Dogs also need care and attention that every dog owner should realize.
