THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

Among the most popular breeds in the UK, the cavalier king charles spaniel is a toy dog. The breed has grown in popularity in the United States since 2000. They are among the smaller spaniels. They have smooth and silky coats and undocked tails. The breed comes in four color varieties. The Blenheim is a beautiful red and white combination. The Tricolor is black, white and tan, the Ruby is a beautiful redhead and the Tan and black is just that.
England is the origin country of the breed. It was a combination of the King Charles Spaniel and some short nosed breeds, believed to include the pug. Between 1800 and 1920, the breed had another look. Afterwards breeders tried to reconfigure the dog to resemble the original spaniel.
During World War II there was a huge setback. During the war, the majority of the breeding stock was destroyed. The original population decreased from sixty to three dogs in the 40’s. After the war, there were six dogs that became the starting block which became the ancestors of all future Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
In the United States the breed was not present until 1956 when a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was brought to America by W.Lyon Brown and Elizabeth Spalding. Together they formed the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club. The club applied for recognition by the AKC which did not happen until 1997.
Today the cavalier king charles spaniel is a great example of a family friendly dog. They are adorable with their large brown eyes. They are bright, relatively easy to train with some conviction and persistence, and their fluffy feet are a quality that breeders seek.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs are quite large for a toy breed. The initial breeders raised them as lap dogs. Today they are still lap dogs with a need to be next to their person. They are smaller than many other spaniels with the height ranging from 12-13 inches, and weighing 10-18 pounds. Their silky coat and beautifully feathered tails, ears and feet contain straight hair with a slight curl permissible by the American Kennel Club.
Some people make some confusion between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the English Toy Spaniel. In the UK, the English Toy Spaniel is known as the King Charles Spaniel. In the United States, the Tan and black is know as the King Charles. Until about one century ago, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed was not yet separated of the English Toy Spaniel. The King Charles is slightly smaller and the ears of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel are set higher on it’s flat skull. The King Charles has a crown that is more domed. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs have longer muzzles.
The dogs of this breed can be described as being very affectionate, eager to please, playful and quite patient. They will show no fear of larger dogs and can become accustomed easily to new surroundings and other dogs. They will feel good if your family has other pets too. They are quite curious and very playful, but they also enjoy cuddling in their owner’s lap.
