THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

One of the most adorable and therefore most popular small dog breeds is the Chihuahua. No surprise many are looking into raising Teacup Chihuahua puppies. This toy dog breed has distinct features - a small apple-shaped head, a muzzle that’s pointed like a terrier’s, and dogs of this breed become emotionally attached to their owners. Any pet owner taking care of a Chihuahua breed must be devoted, given how fragile this small dog can be. All the worry and meticulous care over the years will pay off, especially when you see just how loyal your Chihuahua can be. If you want to better care for your puppies, this concise article has tips for you.

1. Preparing to welcome the pup - potty pads, the pen, water bowls, pet bedding, and so on

Even before you bring such puppies into your home, you need to have prepared some items in anticipation of their needs. A crate or pen to confine them, newspapers and potty pads (lots of them), a litter box, bowls for food and water, premium dog food, soft bedding, and some chew toys.

All these items are vital, because it allows you to start house training the pups early on. Chihuahua need work in this area, as they pee and poop without warning and frequently at that. So that means you’re going to have to oversee their routine closely. When they wake up from sleeping, or after play, and when you get home - take them out so they can potty, establish these as some kind of pattern they can get used to. Set up newspapers and potty pads all over areas where you will allow the pups to roam, so there are fewer potty surprises.

2. Three meals a day with a Chihuahua pup is just fine

You don’t want to overfeed those pups, so be sure to schedule controlled amounts of food for them. Only a small stomach resides in that small body frame, so take it easy. But they have a faster metabolism compared to other breeds. So again, just small but frequent feedings. You must always prepare food, so that a portion is ready whenever these pups are hungry - you want to be able to maintain their even blood sugar level. This small dog breed can easily get Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Don’t feed them scraps, as they can be choosy eaters, and may even turn away from doggie food.

Remember to keep your pups safe from the elements - the weather, and physical conditions. They must be dressed warmly when they are out in the cold.

Chihuahuas are by far the planet’s smallest breed of dogs. If you’re used to larger breeds, you need to be informed that this breed is not “sturdy” as the rest. Still, they can extremely loyal. You should get in touch with a breeder whose background you can check, so you can get a healthy bunch of Chihuahua puppies.
