It is not unusual that one of your family members to fall in love with the beautiful collie pups, but from here to the decision of adopting or buying one or more of these wonderful dogs to be your companion it’s a long and not too straight way. Adopting a new puppy is never something that you are going to want to do without taking your time and doing a little research. When you don’t do your homework on the breed and the breeder, you might end up disappointed. Even though there is a chance that you could luck out and get one of the most amazing four legged creatures on earth, the risk of ending up with a poorly behaved, sickly dog is present and that is a risk that you do not want to take.

In order to establish clear criteria regarding the puppy you want to acquire and to be sure that the collie breed is suitable for you, you should start through gathering information about different aspects related to that breed of dogs. What better place to get breed information than from the breeder himself? First thing to do is to contact local breeders of this breed of dogs. Ask them all the things you want to find out about the dogs of this breed. If the breeder is not able or seems to not be willing to answer your questions, you might want to look elsewhere. Regardless the simplicity of the questions you are asking, the breeder, if a good and responsible one, should be more than willing to take his time to answer all your questions and to teach you all you need to know, because he is interested in the welfare of the puppies he is placing in various families.

There are also pet stores where you can find collie puppies and even some specialized departments in supermarkets. While you might think that there is a convenience factor to shopping for puppies this way, you are taking a rather large risk. This is because you are not able to physically see where the collie puppies came from, so therefore, you do not have enough information to make a solid decision on whether or not the puppy you have selected is the best choice for you.

If you want, there is another way to find collie pups. There are some people that will have collie puppies that they need to find homes for but they are not professional breeders. You will usually find these people posting their puppies for sale through the local papers or sales ads. When interested, take a close look at the living conditions of the collie puppies. This is extremely important and something that should never be overlooked, for any reason or excuse.

There are plenty of places where you can find collie puppies for sale. All you have to do is choosing the best. This way, when it comes to the health and temperament of your new four legged family member, you will have a better shot at things running smoothly. Generally, the ill tempered dogs and the dogs with the serious and costly health conditions came to their homes through little research and impulse purchases.
