So what if you want to pamper your dog and look through the designer dog beds for a place where your canine best friend can sleep? There’s nothing that says you need to leave your dog sleeping on some shapeless pad somewhere. It can be especially useful if you’ve designed your home to look a certain way, and can add a dog bed that will fit in. And there are certainly manufacturers who have created luxury dog beds in an abundance of styles.

You can go completely Hollywood with designer dog beds from websites like Bling Bling Puppy (www.blingblingpuppy.com). In fact, that site has a product actually called “The Hollywood Bed,” which is a curved faux leather dog bed couch, complete with faux fur leopard print seats and end cushions. Or you might try the “Hotel Bed” from the same site, which claims to mimic beds from five star hotels, with a duvet and comforter, and a pillow. Talk about the lap of luxury for your dog.

However, you may prefer to go with casual comfort in designer doggie beds, or even choose a sportier look. You can find these too, with a little hunting. At Oh My Dog Supplies (www.ohmydogsupplies.com), you’ll find the “Casual Dog Couch,” which looks like a big overstuffed arm chair, complete with thick cushion, rounded arms and a curved back. Or perhaps you’d prefer dog beds like the “Furcedes Benz” from the Fetchdog website (www.fetchdog.com). It’s probably no surprise that the bed is shaped like a car, with wheels of cloth, windshield and headlights.

When it comes right down to it, designer dog beds aren’t necessarily a matter of pampering or going overboard. They might cost slightly more than other types of dog beds, and yet most of them aren’t a whole lot more. Some of them are more plush and would probably be more comfortable than ordinary beds. If you’re already willing to provide a heated dog bed for a pet that has arthritis or old, creaking bones, then why not get a comfortable bed that also looks nice and might even match the home décor too?
