Pet Doors - Reasons To Install Them In Your Home
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

Despite some news to the contrary, getting pet doors is not some luxury pet owners can always do without. It most cases it’s a real need. Imagine having to deal with your dog’s whining and uneasiness when it wants to get out of the house. It’s worse if you have a yard, because your pet naturally wants to go out and play there. If you have several dogs or cats, they are going to need to have a way in and out of your home.
Potty accidents - despite having a potty station set up for them, they’ll do just this
It seems that cabin fever is not limited to people. Keep a pet long enough in your house and you’ll feel that it feels imprisoned. Even after pets have marked their territory with the scent of their pee, they may end up marking every other nook that doesn’t smell like their own. That’s a lot of cleaning up that you could avoid had your pet not been holed up for so long indoors. Imagine your laundry basket smelling like your pet’s pee. So will your lower bookshelves. It gets worse - if your computer’s CPU is on the floor beside your desk, that too might get peed on.
You furniture will get scratched - it’s fact of life with cabin-feverish pets
Granted you won’t always know what your pet may do outdoors, there’s no telling the extent of what they could do indoors. We’ve covered the potty accidents part. Now about your indoor furniture and installations, aside from getting peed on, they may be used as scratching posts as well. Never mind if you’ve set up scratching posts near their pet bed. Expect yanked down curtains and claw marks where you don’t want to see them.
Tumbled over, broken items - expect to see these when you get home
If cats can jump on your lap, they can jump on to higher places. Such as on the table and on to higher book shelves. Don’t leave unwashed dishes and not tightly capped bottles or you’ll find them rummaged through or spilled when you get home. Expect books and other mementos on the floor, scattered, when you get home. A vase or two will be broken. Was that lampshade expensive - yes. You think it can survive a cat bored out of its brains? You’re going to find out the painful way.
At least one pet door is need to let your pets have the exercise and fun they need. You also avoid indoor potty accidents, scratched furniture, and tumbled over items. If you happen to have a large house, or a big lawn your pets can have fun in, one pet door may not be enough. For that, you might need several pet doors.
