THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

Human food in homemade dog food recipes? I heard that question asked by someone on the internet and the problem with that question is that “human food” can come in many different forms; meat, dairy, fruit, vegetable, candy, overly processed foods, pre-packed snack foods, etc. So if the question was, is it okay for me to put a breakfast toaster treat as part of my dogs recipes, everybody collectively would say NO!

Most people, I think, when they say they want to add human food to your pet’s recipes would include healthy food. People that are going to take their time to make their own homemade dog food are concerned about their pet’s health. I just wanted to show that when there’s a very general question, people can take it many different ways. If we look at it in that light, yes you can add human food to your pets recipes, but really these additions are food that you would include in your homemade dog food recipes already, such as chicken, carrots and rice.

However, the above question really had to do with adding human food to dry dog food. I’m sure your pet would like variety in their meals just like we do, so I believe it can be a good idea to add healthy food, like chicken, to your pets food. Like everything though, when you start to add things to your pet’s diet, you need to make sure that their nutrients are balanced. So doing every single day may disrupt your pet’s nutritional needs , so if you want to add human food every day, talk to your vet for recommendations and mix things up. So give chicken one day, carrots the next, rice the next, eggs the next, etc. Or if you have a mixture of items that include many different food groups, you’ll be much better off than just one food group. But always check with your vet just to be sure.
