Your dog’s aggressiveness in your house and in public is a formidable issue that a lot of dog owners strain to cope with. Constant barking, charging, and nippiness may lead to more serious incidents , and action must be be taken now. Addressing your dog’s aggressive behavior is not a piece of cake , but there are steps you can take to take on the issue, and even eliminate the aggression completely. It is good to understand the reasons why dogs could exhibit aggression.

 

Why many dogs can be aggressive:

 

First off, your pet may be a pure-bred or mix that just has a greater tendency to be aggressive, but this isn’t always the case. It is also quite possible that if you yet to spay or neuter your dog , he could be aggressive particularly when near other dogs.

By seeing how you move, dogs are very adept at knowing if you are afraid . Each time you or a family member is terrified, your dog receives the message that he is ever more so the chief .

 

So confidently and quickly, you need to put your dog back in his place by regaining the role of the “Alpha” in your home . It’s really less critical how bossy you are with your words, and really more about how confidently you carry yourself and assume the leadership role . As your confidence builds and your dog realizes that his aggressive behavior does not affect you, you will be in a much better position to take even more control. In the end, your dog should learn what his place is in the home , and that aggression is not a boundary that you allow him to cross. Methods to control aggressive behaviors:

 

During leash-training: If your dog spends a lot of every day in a fenced yard without a chain , he may just be not used to the leash. While walking around, try to avoid major distractions initially, and focus on getting some basic commands down pat with your dog . Clickers are a wonderful tool to maintain your dog’s eyes during these opportune moments.

 

When other dogs are around : Your dog could possibly perceive other dogs as a danger to you, and consequently may act aggressively to warn other dogs to stay off . Be confident, display to your dog that you are not afraid and the doesn’t need to protect you.

 

Among unfamiliar people: If your dog behaves viciously or lunges at other people, it also normally because he perceives a threat. Again, show your fearlessness, and re-affirm that you are in command .
