THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

For a lot of people, the word bulldog would bring up the image of a muscular heavyset bow-legged dog that has a pushed-in nose and a heavily wrinkled face. When bulldogs are mentioned, people would immediately think of American Bulldogs, English Bulldogs and French Bulldogs. The Australian Bulldog is not as popular as these other breeds because this is a fairly new breed.

Bulldogs are known for their “sourpuss” expression. In spite of the rather unappealing appearance bulldogs make wonderful home companions. Bulldogs are one of the breeds noted to have wonderful temperaments. A bulldog is not very active inside the house thus it would be a suitable choice for a pet of an apartment dweller. Opportunities to run or to swim must be given to the dog regularly. Bulldogs are known to have a number of genetic health concerns. The need to develop a breed of bulldogs that would not have the inherent genetic concerns gives rise to the development of the Australian Bulldog.

The Australian Bulldog is a breed that was developed about two decades ago. This breed was developed in early 1990s. Bulldogs have the temperament wanted in a home companion but these dogs also have genetic health concerns thus the goal of the breeding program is to retain the admirable features and to eliminate the genetic problems

Breeders of Australian Bulldogs have attained their goals as the breed that was created does not have the exaggerated physical features that restrict movement and cause health concerns in the dogs. An Australian Bulldog has a distinctive appearance but it still has the typical features of a bulldog. An Australian Bulldogs still has a well boned brick shaped body but it does not have a rolling gait because instead of being bowlegged the dogs have straight legs. This breed has a longer nose and fewer wrinkles because the skin on the face is not too loose. Because of the sound structure of this breed, health problems that concern other bulldog breeds were largely eliminated.

The Australian Bulldog was specifically developed to be a home companion. This good natured pet is affectionate, loyal and has an unaccountable desire to please its people. This is a breed that loves to be made a part of the family’s activities but they do not have a demanding and an aggressive personality. An Australian Bulldog would contentedly lie at the master’s feet but it would also be very eager to play with the children.
