You should not wait to start training your poodle, start as soon as you bring them home. There are a number of accessible assistance that you can get like a poodle training club and poodle training dvds. You may want your training to be crate, but remember to take the pet outside before it relieves itself in the crate, or you may have an even bigger mess to clean. You can train your poodle about bathroom using with proper time. Set a fixed schedule and stay with that. You should always have your puppy visit the vet to make sure that they are in good health. If your pet is having medical problems like worm and the likes, training cannot be possible. So deal with it asap with appropriate medication like Heartgard Plus for dogs and the likes.
Take your poodle to the bathroom every one or two hours. You might have to do some long waiting outside to give him ample time using the bathroom. This may be a bit inconvenient for you, but will be worth it in the end. Your puppy will most surely have to go potty when he first wakes, soon after eating and soon after play. You can see your poodle to set a timetable to their needs. If you get the puppy to the exact same place every time you get him out the puppy will learn that this is where he is to use the toilet. If you set a feeding and watering routine this will make it less difficult to know when to get the puppy out. Use potty commands every time, this will let him know that this is not a time to play, but that it is time to use the toilet. You should certainly constantly keep in mind to praise your puppy when he does things right, this will give him the reassurance that he needs from you as his master.
