Dog Training Leash
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

When you take a puppy home on his first day, you will feel quite tempted to coddle him since he is so little and helpless. Most owners do not realize that spoiled dogs are often untrained dogs. Dogs that lack any training structure as a puppy will develop an array of unwanted behavioral issues that will be much harder to break as the puppy matures into an adult dog and becomes set in his ways. A prime example is training your dog for a leash. It is better to train a puppy than an adolescent or full grown dog for many reasons, but mostly because they are easier to handle when they are small. Once the dog gets older, it will be a lot harder to train them by leash because they have the ability to drag their owner in the direction they want to go, thus resulting in control issues.
The Process
Every new puppy needs to get accustomed to wearing a collar around his neck; this is the first hurdle to accomplish when leash training your dog. Once you have the puppy familiarized with his collar, he will probably try to get rid of it by scratching, biting, rolling about or trying something similar to that. Even as this may be hard for you to watch, avoid taking his collar off until he has relaxed a bit and his attention is diverted. In doing so, the dog will understand that the collar won’t be taken off because of his negative behavior and that it can be removed at any given time.
After conquering collar acclimation, the next part of dog leash training is to attach the leash to the collar in the same fashion. Have the leash connected to your dog’s collar so that he is able to carry it around with him as he romps about and plays. As with the collar, it will not take long at all for the puppy to forget the leash is even there. When you have accomplished this step, you may proceed to the next part of the process. Just be sure that your puppy is safe while playing with the leash connected to his collar, and that he is supervised at all times so he doesn’t get hung up on furniture and get hurt.
The final step for training your dog by leash is to grab hold of the end of your leash while you walk your dog in and around your home. Make sure to keep the leash between you and the puppy sort of loose, but keep him walking right by your side at all times. You should start training immediately, so if puppy pulls on the leash you should stop in place immediately and call him back to your side so he learns that this behavior is not acceptable. As soon as this is accomplished, the owner will be able to commence walking once more and continue to do so as long as his dog heels with his leash hanging loosely at one side. The owner need to praise their puppy regularly to ensure that he understands that his obedience is commendable and that walking with his master is a pleasurable experience.
