Dog Training Collars - What Pet Owners Should Know
THIS IS AWESOME!
My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog.
Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches.

When you’re shopping for dog training collars, you need to keep in mind not every make and model offer the same features. So how can you tell which features fit your needs? Here’s a concise guide on shopping for dog training collars.
Varying ranges - decide if you need short, medium, or long range
Short, medium, and long range are the choices for transmission range of remote training collars. Short if you’re letting your dog roam the yard, medium if you’re taking your dog out on the park, and long if you’ll be bringing your hunting dogs to the hunting grounds or working dogs out on the farm.
Ruggedness means both the collar and transmitter remain functional even when dropped or soaked wet
You may have hunting, working dogs, or merely some small toy dogs running around your backyard, but it’s comforting to know the collar will still work when wet. Some owners see their dogs running back indoors when it rains. Some dogs stay outside despite the rain. With a waterproof collar, you can still send a signal, if you’ve trained them well, to call them back.
Rechargeable batteries - so you don’t keep buying batteries
Closely linked to being ruggedly waterproof is the battery issue. The collar should be able to survive getting wet, if it does have parts that could be easily be removed. So you want collars with batteries that need not be removed, as with a child’s toy. You just need to plug the collars into any electric outlet when the indicators indicate low power; come back check again later.
Benefits of docking station - faster recharging time
Although collars often come with power cords and recharging units, it’s often good to have a dock. It’s more of a cradle recharging station, neat to look at, and helps keep things tidy. Fewer wires to see lying about, that’s why. Naturally, that item could increase the price. Or if the power-recharge rate is not substantially increased by having a dock compared to simply connecting the collar and transmitter to power cords, then maybe you don’t need this. Best to check with different models in case the added features appeal to you.
Expand the collar count when needed - great for those with many dogs
The collar-transmitter package often lists how many collars are included and whether the collar count is expandable upon your purchase of more collars of the same make and model. Keep this info in mind when you decide whether to get more collars, or get more dogs. Satisfied with the “performance” of the training collars they use, some farmers or hunters may want to get more collars - of the same make and model. This might happen to you.
