THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

A high number of dogs bites have happened of late due to making the effort to train a dog to walk on a leash or training for ‘collar-grabbing’.

Bites of this type happen most often when someone reaches for the dog’s collar or collar region. These types of bites typically happen when someone reaches for the dog’s collar.

The dog begins to make a mental note that collar holds or the steps to train a dog to walk on a leash are terrible  or uncomfortable.

This can change the dog into a defensive mode when an attempt is made to hold her by the collar.!

Some dogs don’t bite but instead use defensive techniques such as playing “get me”.

It’s best to begin your collar grab training while your dog is just small.

Make sure you are training your dog with positive messages while working on collar grab or the attempt to train a dog to walk on a leash.

You don’t want to play and then end play with collar grab or collar grab training.

This way, the dog will associate it with a negative should not be solely associated with the end of a play session.

You must make sure you don’t habitually grab your dog’s collar when you are done playing with it.

This habit  will create a feeling  in your dog’s mind that grabbing his collar is unwelcome because it always means no more play.

The idea is in fact to create the opposite impression in his mind.

We want Rover to consider this to be a fun time.

Kennel time can be a positive thing, just make sure Fido has something positive to consider, snausages or a toy.

Before you know it, your best friend will be easy going about collar grab and happy to pop into his confinement are.

Don’t make the mistake of collar grabbing when you are correcting your dog’s behavior.

Don’t grab the collar in a negative or angry manner.

This will only accomplish associating the collar grab and come command with impending conflict and your dog will want to avoid both.

Further to that you will have now cemented a negative reaction from your dog in his mind. The end result of which is most likely a bit.

Most likely any attempt to collar grab your dog will not be successful.

So follow the tips above, get a good training program and stick to it. The results will be worth it.

After all, Rover is worth it!
