THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

Boxer dog training can be quite a handful owing it to this breed’s large size, strength and energy. One survey even rated boxers with average working/obedience intelligence due to their  resistance to punishment-based training. But many boxer owners disagree to that survey for they are aware that given right training approach, boxers are far above average when it involves learning new lessons and tricks taught to them.

In order to become a well-mannered dog many people really like to be around, a boxer dog needs to go through series of boxer dog training sessions which include socialization, basic obedience, housebreaking and many more based on what you would want your boxer to be. But regardless of the lessons you’re working on at the moment or your goal for training your dog, there’s one thing you ought to prioritize – your dog’s safety during training.

To ensure your pet’s safety while learning, here are some tips you may want to take into consideration:

  • If your pet hasn’t mastered the obedience commands yet, always keep him on leash when training in a spot that is not enclosed with fence. To ensure maximum safety, always train him in a fenced in location to prevent problems like getting hit by a car. Train him in public or open areas only when he has mastered the commands essential to keep him safe.
  • Make perfectly sure that your fence doesn’t have holes or broken portions big enough to fit your dog.
  • Keep cleaners, pesticides and other poisonous chemicals away from your dog’s reach. Even if he knows how to respond to the command “leave it” or “drop it”, you shouldn’t leave these things scattering anywhere especially if you aren’t always around to monitor your dog.
  • Use training tools carefully. Boxer dog training tools like leash and collars are effective but can be dangerous to pets if not used properly. It is therefore important to read and follow instructions to prevent injuries and other problems.
