Isn’t it ironic that so many people give you a strange look the minute you mention Anti Bark Collars, and yet those self same people are will to subject their pets to extremely emotional upset, and even cruelty on occasions? Some dogs rarely bark, but there are also those who rarely stop barking, and unless you live in the middle of nowhere, your neighbors are going to complain, and of course they’ll have every right to. In reality, the constant barking of a dog can be extremely frustrating. You can have arguments with your neighbors for this reason, but you can also get in trouble with the law. In some jurisdictions, the law inforces dog owners to get rid of their pets if these dogs bark too often.
Having to give your dog away after he or she has been with you for many years can be a huge emotional upset, both for you and the dog. However, sending it away does not fix the problem; it might go to another family, where history repeats. In the end, your dog will probably end up in a shelter. How anyone can possibly believe that this type of treatment is more humane than a negligible static shock is beyond belief.
Unfortunately though, the vast majority of people have seen movies where a dog has been tortured using a shock collar, and they’ve read reports on how cruel these collars are. In reality however, these reports are written by those who claim to love be devoted dog lovers, yet they’ve never taken the time to actually research anti bark collars. There is a myth according to which you have to shave the dog’s neck before applying the collar. Other reports make claims of burn marks, and this in itself shows just how misinformed these people are. The internet is the perfect place to read such absurd stories about bark collars.
In reality, the bark collars only tingle the dog. After all, when you take your jumper off on a hot and humid day, and you touch something and get a tiny shock, one can’t really describe it as being painful. They can scare you, but there’s no way they can hurt you.
Many dogs today are still alive because the anti bark collars have been invented. Practically everyone who has used them consider them to be a real blessing, in that problematic barking almost always stops within just a few days of the collar being put on a dog. Additionally, most Anti Bark Collars will warn the dog before and shock is administered. If the dog then goes ahead and starts bark, a very mild shock is given, and if the dog continues to bark, the intensity of the shock increases. With that said, even the most powerful shock is little more than what we know as a static shock. After all, there are only two tiny batteries delivering the charge in the first place.
