To be honest, I think the dog will need basic obedience training first rather than tricks, as well as relationship building with your mother, as she will need good contact with the dog in order to have a fit for society canine in her care.

And grabbing your dog in a “bear hug” as a correction, is teaching your dog to be afraid of you grabbing them. I personally want a dog who Loves being grabbed. So that if my nephew is here and decides to give my dog a big hug, he doesn’t react defensively and snap at my nephew.

Wow I have quite a few problems with this.
See at 5:41 how the dog is licking its lips? Thats called a calming signal. Basically it means the dog is stressed and trying to let this idiot holding her face know that she doesn’t mean any harm. A dog is Not a child! They don’t understand english, If you grab them by the face and stick your face in theres, theres a chance that a dog who isn’t used to being manhandled will snap at you in defense.
