see this has been caused in the UK they r very few cases in the U.S. and the only reason why they some cases here is cuz thoes dogs where brought here and where breed to normal and healthy cavaliers but it was in the gene pool. seeing this it’s puthic and sad knowing that the poor dogs have to go threw this and all they did was be born!!!! i know very responseable breeder and they check every single pice of paperwork knowing that the puppies r healthy and will go to good homes!

Find me a perfectly healthy cavalier at over 10 years old. seriously. I have never heard of one, and of the hundreds I meet in the city, they all have some issue. My cavalier is 7 and you’d think she was 17. heartbreaking. these breeders should be banned and the public should know whats happening to ALL our purebreeds. They are all getting worse, not healthier at all.

The vast majority of Cavaliers today are healthier than in years past due to the diligence of responsible breeders doing the proper testing and careful analysis of the dogs they use in their breeding programs and to the introduction of new drugs which are helping manage the symptoms of mitral valve disease which remains the most serious health problem in the breed.

ive read much about this video, especially when the dog was in pain, NO ONE DID ANYTHING TO INTENTIONALLY HURT THE DOG!!!!! they were filming the episode so they could show it to the vet to get a better diagnoses due to the fact that the dog is not always in pain. people like you are the problem, pounding the war drum gets these pups no-where money and research and responsible breeding do, you obviously have no idea how this malformation affects these dogs

The vast majority of breeders of dogs do their very best to produce happy healthy puppies as they love their breeds and their own dogs, and use the many health test that are available (again the producers decided not to show ANY of this)

They have tried to make out that dogs are very inbred and keep on saying about mother to son mating etc, whish is complete and utter rubbish I would defy ANYONE to show me a litter bred in that way today by a breeder, it is likely to be a puppy farmer who would not bother to register their dogs at the KC anyway.
