Canine Advice

THIS IS AWESOME! My favorite dog trainer and dog whisperer of all time has just released a free video online explaining how to eliminate 94% of all unwanted behavior in ANY dog. Her name is Krista Cantrell and I absolutely LOVE the way she teaches. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

Canine Advice

Canines are low maintenance creatures that want your attention above all else. It understands kindness and understanding, gives it enough care and attention and it’ll bring it all back to you. Remember, canines are your friends – and like friends, you should treat them with love and respect in your home.

Don’t panic, keeping your dog in check isn’t the most difficult thing in the world. If you’re spoiling for pet by giving it too much food, stop what you’re doing. You’re only encouraging your pet canine to be lazy and unproductive. No one wants your pet canine not jumping around and being active, right? How can it cheer you up if you fed it too much that it sleeps all day?

Don’t spoil your pet by giving it too much than it deserves. It’s no secret that good canine advice comes from common sense. If you’re stuffing it with food, you’ll only encourage it to be fat and lazy – something a dog owner should worry about. You want an easily excitable creature that behaves itself properly, not a lazy canine that breaks a sweat when it tries to go out and play!

If you want good advice, it’s simple. Just be a good master that it obeys and above all, love. Dogs aren’t exactly complex creatures you can go ahead and reason with, but their company makes everything happy and bouncy no matter how distressing your situation is – and that’s all that matters. They will keep you occupied with your mopping around with what to do next with your life. If you’re having gloom issues, they’ll be there to keep you upbeat again.

An important thing to think about if you’re having trouble training your dog is friendship. If you ask any seasoned dog expert out there, they will give you canine advice like it is – it’s all about building a friendly and lasting bond with your pet animal – if you can establish that, you will breeze through training while having fun in the process.

How Do You Stop Your Dog From Chewing

It is but accepted that pet dogs chew on anything however there are items that a young puppy has to stay away from and all of these could cost him his health, his life, and a whole lot more that are on the inside of your house. There are several ways on stopping puppies from chewing and they are found below for your information:

Help him avoid electrical cords: They are components that are dangerous; electricity wires, when not seen as damaged may spark a fire caused by short circuitry on items around your home.  Do not let him to go near to these wires as they really are so inviting for a young puppy once seen lying down on the floor.  Make absolutely sure that cables are not left dangling or lying on the floor as the pets do not really realize what it is for. Remember to keep them hidden at the back of the appliance for safety.

Give Your Pup A Chew Toy: Keeping young puppies from chewing can easily be done by supplying them toys to chew on; there are a large amount of good quality buys at pet stores to divert their attention to.  Additional toys will help out in teaching them new tricks.  At the time you see the puppy chewing, present them a good stuffed toy where they can chew their hearts out. Toy bones would probably be perfect; balls are good options, too.

Use Bitter Apples: A dog never like the taste of bitter apple.  Adding bitter apple on the objects they wish to chew on will prevent them from doing so. You have got to stick to directions on the content label for effective results.  This smart alternative is not cheap enough but the price it has to pay is way below the damage it may cause him and your property.

Chili: This spice can help in stopping puppy chewing. The actual smell and the taste are hated by pet dogs.  This particular substance can potentially make them stop chewing and digging as well.

Provide Your Puppy With Toys: Insert dog toys within a puppy’s crate or cage and let him to carry out his chew habits inside of his home. Training him to chew on things inside his house would educate him that things outside his house are not supposed to be chewed, except for food.

Reprimand a puppy: For any wrong action, reprimand them at any cost. Punish your dog as well relating to any chewing activity and make it obvious that your dog has to abide by your house rules and regulations.

They are only one or two of the items that a puppy owner has to look at as you plan to stop puppies from chewing. It will take a great command, a couple of punishments, and a reward for a puppy to be trained. Some people would laugh at the sight of things that were chewed by these pets but for some who treasure things that they have saved and bought for, this is not funny at all.

Attempt to be strict: A pet owner has to be consistent in virtually every decision regarding rewards and punishments are concerned. This process is one good start to teach ones own puppies to be obedient and the rest should just follow. It should be great to know if you have a puppy which your friends and neighbors would envy.

Dog behavior problems are caused by several factors like atmosphere, previous encounters and boxer training. Although the occurrence of such problems are common among dogs of any breed, it is recommended to address these problems as soon as possible to prevent them from getting worse. Behavior problems include but not limited to digging, chasing, too much barking, biting, jumping and so forth. While these problems may not have similar causes as well as effects, techniques like the ones stated below are applicable to most of the mentioned behavior issues.

Socialization.
This is one important part of boxer training because it is during this period that a puppy or even an adult dog, is given the chance to mingle with the mother, litter mates and other dogs. Through this, he will be able to determine how to respond not {just to other animals but to humans~get along not only with other pets but with humans} as well. Furthermore, it will help him get rid of his fear, nervousness or shyness.

Be the pack leader.
Canines in the wild thrive in packs. When it comes to domesticated dogs, they recognize humans as part of the pack too. Therefore it’s vital to make it clear to your boxer that you are the pack leader. Failure to show your pet that you’re the leader of the pack may lead to confusion and disobedience.

Appropriate correction.
One way to prevent problems from getting worse is to correct undesirable behaviors as soon as it happens. Like for example if you see your dog digging or about to dig in the front lawn, distract him and transfer him to the location where he is allowed to dig. If he continues to dig in the spot you specified, reward him with treats or praise to let him know that you’re pleased with what he did.

Recognition.
While correction is required whenever he made a mistake, proper recognition shouldn’t be taken for granted too. Rewarding your dog for every good behavior helps him determine that you are pleased with what he did thus increases the chance of doing such behavior again. Rewards could be treats, praise or time to play.

Modifying behavior problems may seem difficult but as long as you are familiar with the basic boxer training tips, having a well-behaved boxer isn’t impossible to achieve.

One way that those who own Weimaraner puppies occasionally misunderstand the purpose of crate training is they believe it must take the form of a type of punishment. For lots of men and women, the idea of keeping a dog in a crate for just about any period of time seems unpleasant or even barbaric, and as a result they have trouble realizing that it may well be pleasant for the dog.

Nevertheless, Weimaraner puppy training shouldn’t be unpleasant at all for your dog. On the contrary, your dog should learn to see its crate as its preferred place, a place that is calm and safe. In order to instill the best attitude in the dog’s mind towards its crate, it’s critical for you to train in a distinct way, following distinct rules and not breaking them.

The very first and most crucial point is to fully understand that the crate just isn’t an excuse to stay away from interacting with your pet. Weimaraners tend to be sociable dogs - they have to have interaction a great deal - and shutting them away rather than having fun with them can be a terrible way to treat them.

Perhaps two hours of your time really should be spent on a daily basis simply having fun with the dog, so it just doesn’t work to hold the attitude that this is really a bad thing. Leaving your dog in the crate away from other people is out of the question. The dog crate should really essentially be in a family area in which your dog will be able to hear and see its owners. It must basically see its crate as a comfortable place to go back to, rather than an unpleasant spot utilized for punishment.

A necessary follow-on from this rule is the fact that Weimaraner puppy training should not take place for too long at a time. In fact, for puppies, the absolute maximum time will probably be limited by their need to urinate, given the small size of their bladders. The proper time remaining inside the crate will never be more than a couple of hours, even for much more mature dogs, and for young puppies the number may be calculated in minutes. Generally remember that the basic rule of thumb is the fact that the dog needs to view its crate as a cozy place to spend some time, never a dungeon it fears or hates.

A closing note to think about is that this training must be performed in addition to regular dog familiarization, not instead of it. If your Weimaraner puppy training does not additionally include socializing with different dogs, then he or she will not discover the right way to socialize effectively, and will always be insecure or awkward around other dogs. So as to teach your Weimaraner to become sociable and secure with other dogs and people, a combination of crate training and also normal socializing is essential.

A Safety Area For Dog Epilepsy

Dog epilepsy can cause a series of seizures. If it is the first time it happens to your pet, it can be frightening and you may feel helpless. A dog who has epilepsy can have seizures at any time, which is why it is important to dog proof your home. Make it safe for your loved pet to be in even when you are not around.

If your dog cannot be watched by anyone when you are at work, you can place them in a traveling crate. You can have extra padding in there to make it comfortable for them, as if they were in a bed. When you do, make sure that they are not wearing dog collars, or any leashes on. This can be very dangerous and can choke them while they are in there. You may also want to remove any toys, and hard or sharp objects away from the crate when you are not around.

If you do not feel comfortable leaving your dog in a crate while you are at work, you can have a room especially for him. This room should be padded and have soft flooring. A seizure will cause your dog to be laying stiff on his side, causing him to continue to hurt his head on the hard surface.

You want to remove any objects laying around in the room. You do not want to leave toys in there that can cause harm to your pet. Any sharp or hard objects should be removed from the room, especially when you are not around. When your dog is having a seizure he will land on his side, stiff, you do not want him to land on one of these objects or have a sharp object poking at him, without being able to move away from it.

If you have more than one dog in the home, it would be appropriate to only keep this dog in the room, away form the others. While this pup is seizing, other dogs can trigger a pack attack against the dog who is seizing. Even if you feel your dogs grew up together or love one another.

You may want to place baby gates on the stairway. Seizures do happen at any given time and without warning. If your pet is walking by the stairway when they get a seizure, they can fall down. This should be placed even if you are in the home.

A surveillance camera can also help when you are away from home. You can place this camera in the doggy room to keep an eye on your pup while you are away. There are special cameras that you can zoom in, change direction of the camera and even watch all from your cell phone. This would be ideal to keep complete track of your dog should he have a seizure. This video can also be shown to the veterinarian when you take your dog.

Dog epilepsy is something that you cannot change but you can change your pup surrounding to make it safe for him. You should also have a way handy to transport your dog to the vet. Having a children sled, or even a blanket can help you move your pet onto your car.

The dog with allergies is usually an itchy, itchy dog.  Infrequently her itchy skin makes her so miserable that she keeps her owner awake all night with chewing, chewing, chewing at herself.  Her owner may be sure that she has fleas or mange, and she may in truth have one of these issues as well as allergies.  The take home point is that everything that tend to give people breathing signs of allergies-pollens, dusts, mites, food, other animals-all of these things can make a dog with allergies it.

Her paws may itch.  If this is so she’ll lick between her toes until there’s so much moisture there that yeast and bacteria are thrilled to make the dog’s feet there home.  Now she itches not simply from her allergies, but from secondary contagions, too!  If the front of her legs itches, she may lick the same spot for hours to get some relief, thus dressing the stage for the appearance of a “lick granuloma”.  More properly known as acral lick rash, these nodules look like other cancers and are occasionally almost impossible to treat.

Her ears may become inflamed from her allergy.  Again, inflamed ears are warm and damp.  So what occurs?  Standard household germs decide that the dog’s ear is the finest hotel since the plaza.  They set up camp, and the owner and vet may finish up treating protracted ear illnesses, all because of the provoking allergens.  The dog with a persistent ear infection should be screened for thyroid disease as well as atopy ( allergy to environmental allergens ).

There’s a lot of hope for dogs with allergies today, both those with atopy and those that suffer from food allergies.  Atopy can be dealt with by epidermal experts and local doctors, using both medicines that treat the symptoms and allergy shots that definitely desensitize the dog, teaching her body not to retort so violently to allergens.

Food sensitivities in dogs also result in a dog to experience unbearable inflammation.  This itchy dog might or might not also show signals of digestive disease like barfing and gut rot.  If a food allergy is causing the inflammation, she’ll nearly always have inflammation under hear tail.  The only way to diagnose this sort of allergy with certainty is to put the dog on a firm elimination diet prescribed by her doctor, and then watchfully wait for improvement.  This can take several weeks.
